LCV Body Types

At Aston Barclay, we sell a range of commercials vehicles from some of the UK's best known brands. Some of the regular body types we have in auction include:

Pick Up

A pick-up truck features an open cargo bed at the rear, making it suitable for hauling various loads such as construction materials, tools, or outdoor equipment. Its single cab provides seating for two to three people, while a double cab offers space for up to five.

Panel Van

A panel van is a fully enclosed vehicle with no side windows in the cargo area, designed for transporting goods securely. It offers ample cargo space, making it ideal for businesses that need to move equipment, tools, or deliveries.

Chassis Cab

The chassis cab is a versatile LCV with a bare chassis frame that allows for the customization of the rear body to suit specific needs like flatbeds, box bodies, or refrigerated units. This flexibility makes it popular in industries requiring tailored transportation solutions.

Dropside

A dropside truck has a flatbed with hinged sides that can be lowered or removed, allowing easy loading and unloading of goods. It's ideal for transporting bulk materials like sand, gravel, or pallets, especially in construction and landscaping.

Platform Cab

A platform cab is a vehicle with a cabin and a flat, open platform at the rear, offering a blank canvas for various body types or custom builds like tippers, dropsides, or specialized equipment carriers. It provides flexibility for businesses that need to transport different types of cargo or machinery that may not fit standard vehicle bodies.

Tipper

A tipper truck features a hydraulic mechanism that tilts the cargo bed to unload materials like sand, gravel, or demolition waste easily. It's commonly used in construction and waste management for its efficient dumping capabilities.

Beaver Tail

A beavertail is a type of flatbed truck with a sloped, tapered rear section, designed to facilitate easy loading and unloading of heavy machinery, vehicles, or equipment. The slanted "tail" allows for a low loading angle, making it especially suitable for transporting construction equipment, tractors, or other wheeled cargo.

Curtain Sider

A curtain sider is a type of truck or trailer with a flatbed and flexible curtain-like sides that can be easily pulled back for quick loading and unloading of goods. It combines the security of an enclosed van with the accessibility of an open flatbed, making it ideal for transporting palletized goods and facilitating efficient freight operations.

Luton Van

A Luton van features a box-shaped cargo area that extends over the driver's cab, providing extra storage space without increasing the vehicle's overall length. It is ideal for transporting large, bulky items like furniture, appliances, or other high-volume goods, making it a popular choice for removals and delivery services.

Mini Bus

A minibus is a compact bus designed to transport a smaller group of passengers, typically between 8 to 20 people, offering a more maneuverable and economical alternative to larger buses. It is commonly used for group travel, shuttle services, and as a transport solution for businesses needing to transport multiple passengers in a smaller vehicle.
