Talent Acquisition Specialist

We have a exciting opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR team based in Normanton, Wakefield.

Principal Responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage end to end recruitment processes and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Maintain a preferred supplier list of agencies and terms of engagement.
  • Administer documentation and system updates relating to recruitment processes.
  • Provide regular recruitment related reporting and trend analysis.

Duties include:

  • Work with hiring managers and heads of departments to understand ongoing hiring needs.
  • Determine and continuously develop appropriate hiring strategies including but not limited to direct sourcing, head-hunting, advertising, and working with recruitment agencies/partners to provide high quality candidates at pace.
  • Proactively source, attract and screen candidates using a variety of channels with an emphasis on sourcing as many direct candidates as possible to contribute to the reduction of usage of recruitment agencies.
  • Develop standardised methods for the interview and selection process including creating templates where required.
  • Identify industry specific job boards and recruitment platforms.
  • Advertise roles on a number of platforms, specific to the role.
  • Drive engagement of candidates through maximising the company’s employer brand, working with Marketing and HR to make regular posts, campaigns and attraction techniques.
  • Update job descriptions as required.
  • Conduct telephone interviews and assess capabilities.
  • Coordinate interviews, meeting rooms, manager’s diary etc.
  • Notify candidates of their interview outcome and provide feedback.
  • Ensure the recruitment inbox is managed and queries answered in a timely fashion.
  • Support HR with the on-boarding processes for colleagues where required.
  • Promote the use of best practice throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Ensure approval processes have been followed on all occasions.
  • Attend sites when required to support large scale recruitment campaigns.
  • Participate in job fairs and build relationships with local job centres.
  • Support with the onboarding of contractors & IR35 status determinations.
  • Champion diversity & inclusion in recruitment and company culture.
  • Integrate EDI strategies into all recruitment activities to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Ensure confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times.
  • Lead a project to implement a ATS system.
  • Once implemented, proactively manage, continuously develop, and improve the ATS to ensure it provides a positive user experience and delivers efficiencies.
  • Negotiate and network with external recruitment agencies to ensure Aston Barclay receive competitive rates for any outsourced roles.
  • Work with the Head of HR & Group Contracts and Procurement Manager on tender processes to identify preferred supplier list.
  • Manage agency/supplier performance.
  • Ensure we select the most cost-effective option in all circumstances.
  • Produce offer letters & contracts and issue in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with GDPR and any other legislative requirements.
  • Report on recruitment activity including but not limited to open roles, application rates, day to hire, interviews to hire, offer acceptance rate, cost per hire and recruitment effectiveness.
  • Track and analyse recruitment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Create and roll out surveys where required to gather relevant data.
  • Advise hiring managers and internal teams on hiring best practices and market feedback.
  • Utilise data & analytics to optimize recruitment performance.
  • Monitor recruitment spend and report on cost savings.

Skills/Experience:

  • Proven recruitment experience, ideally within a in-house setting.
  • Proven success managing the recruitment lifecycle for a high volume of roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with candidates and hiring managers and communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience proactively sourcing candidates across a variety of channels including LinkedIn, Indeed and other social media platforms.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
