Zenith and Aston Barclay combined forces during December to run an advent calendar charity campaign for its buyers.
Twenty vehicles were handpicked from cars Aston Barclay were remarketing on behalf of Zenith during December with the winning bidder asked to nominate a charity to receive a £100 donation.
A total of £2,500 was donated to a variety of charities including MacMillan Cancer Research, Dementia UK, Wish Upon A Star and Gorillas UK which included an additional donation of £500 by regular buyer Sascron Car Supermarket.
In addition, every buyer who bought a Zenith vehicle during 2020 was entered into a prize draw to win one of three holiday vouchers to the value of £300, £500 or £1,200. The winners were Lewis George Automotive, SBS Supplies Ltd and Sportline Car Sales Ltd.
The campaign led up to the annual Zenith Premium virtual sale, with over 150 cars going into a sale on 30 December, bringing a close to what became the year of the virtual sale.
“2020 saw a big shift in how the industry sourced used wholesale vehicles, with many adapting to new ways of searching and buying stock. It was great to see how resourceful our buyers have been in making the switch to a virtual sales programme. We were delighted to be able to work closely with Aston Barclay to run this joint Christmas campaign, as a thank you for their continued support throughout the year. The response was very positive, and I am delighted that we have been able to support several charities during the event,” said Stephen Barlow, head of remarketing at Zenith.
Martin Potter, Aston Barclay’s MD-Customer said: “It was fun to involve the buyers in the Christmas advent calendar campaign that involved them being able to gift money to charity. The response was very positive and was a great way of ending a challenging year. The last virtual sale was a key moment in our relationship with Zenith who have championed online sales with Aston Barclay over the past few years.”
